What is the Herb Society of America?

Motto of the Society:  "For Use and for Delight" - John Parkinson

The Herb Society is dedicated to promoting the knowledge, use and delight of herbs through educational programs, research,  and sharing the experience of its members with the community.     We are committed to protecting our global environment for the health and well-being of human-kind and all growing things.    The HSA was founded in 1933 and is the oldest advocate and proponent of herbs in the United States.   This group is concerned with the cultivation of herbs and with the study of their history and uses both past and present.    The National Herb Garden, sponsored and funded by the HSA, is located in the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington D.C.

The headquarters for the HSA are in Kirkland, Ohio.   There are currently 46 units throughout the United States and Canada.  Anyone interested in herbs can join the Herb Society of America.   There are individual, family and business memberships.
