Basils - They Aren't Just for Humans to Enjoy

Share your Basils with the Birds, Bees, and Butterflies!

You can have lots of basil to enjoy while having a stunning flowering plant that pollinators love.  Here are 3 basils that you can let flower – you don’t need to pinch them back.  They produce lots of foliage and flowers all season long.
​Plus, they are pretty tasty....

​Cardinal Basil– culinary herb and eye-stopping ornamental – gorgeous red blooms on burgundy stems –use in cooking like Thai basil  -  24-30” tall – bright green leaves – deterrent to pests – use in flower arrangements – strong anise-licorice flavor – cold tolerant.

​Fairytale Basil ‘Wild Magic’  - robust grower - purple/violet flowers – dark green leaves with purple margins – culinary – spicy fruity aroma – mild basil flavor –cold tolerant – beautiful ornamental  - cut flowers - 18-24” tall - good in containers.

​Fairytale Basil ‘Magic Mountain’ – Dark green leaves some with purple hue – deep purple flowers – culinary use – 24-36” tall – sweet basil with slightly stronger flavor – beautiful, fragrant ornamental  - cut flowers - more cold tolerant – good in containers.
